Dr Frenk Smrekar, the Vice-President of PhageEU, is also the Founder and CEO of JAFRAL’s. Dr. Frenk Smrekar has been working in the field of bacteriophage production since he started his PhD in 2005.

After working for several years with different biomolecules, he founded company JAFRAL. Since then, JAFRAL became world’s leading CDMO for production of bacteriophages by producing many drug products that were successful used in clinical trial (EU, US, Australia, etc). In parallel JAFRAL is also producing phage products at R&D and commercial scale for other fields: veterinary, cosmetics, food industry and diagnostics.
