Upcoming PhageEU Event in the European Parlament: High-level Debate on the Potential of Bacteriophages in Fighting AMR

We are pleased to announce that on the occasion of AMR Awareness Week 2024, PhageEU in collaboration with MEP Tiemo Wölken (Member of the SANT and ENVI Committees), is hosting a high-level debate at the European Parliament focusing on bacteriophage therapy as a promising solution to combat antimicrobial resistance.

Time: 14:30-16:30 CET

Location: European Parliament, Brussels, room: ASP5G305

This comprehensive debate will feature distinguished speakers from across the bacteriophage research and regulatory landscape, including:

  • Representatives from the phage research community discussing applications in human health, veterinary medicine, and food safety
  • Officials from the European Commission
  • Representatives from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)
  • Delegates from the European Medicines Agency (EMA)

The program will include expert presentations followed by an engaging panel discussion and audience Q&A session.
